WSC Awarded KAERI Contract for 3KEYTOUCH GlassTops

In July 2020, WSC was awarded a contract by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) for three 3KEYTOUCH GlassTops platforms and in October, completed delivery of the GlassTops to Korea. KAERI's Innovative SMR group will be using the GlassTops with their SMART (System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor) 3KEYMASTER simulator. Each GlassTop includes a 3KEYMASTER client workstation to drive and interact with the three 48" LCDs/touch screens and will be connected to the KAERI simulation server that is executing the 3KEYMASTER simulator load.

SMART is an integral-type small reactor, developed by KAERI that received the first-ever Standard Design Approval (SDA) from Korean regulatory body for a 100 MWe (330 MWth) integral reactor. SMART has enhanced the inherent safety by containing major components such as pressurizer, steam generator, and reactor coolant pumps in a single reactor pressure vessel. It can supply a city with a population of 100,000 with 90 MW electricity and 40,000 tons of fresh water per day, concurrently.
